Maura Nicholson Handmade Jewellery

This is a site for a friend’s handmade jewellery business. Again I used the WordPress CMS for this one to ensure the client could easily maintain the site going forwards. The main concerns with the project were producing a suitably stylish design that would display the jewellery, without distracting users from the pieces. The idea of brown packing paper and gentle pencil strokes came to me as a way to suggest the luxuriousness of items, and while it has a slightly old-fashioned implication, the pieces themselves disregard any such thoughts.

There were some issues with the e-commerce plugin for WordPress, but I managed to patch it so it works seamlessly. I am looking forward to the next release though as they suggest the issue will be fixed then, and it’s never good to be too reliant on a hack/patch.
